A simple baby care log:
what to write down.
A useful care log helps you answer a small question later: what happened, and when? Start there. You can add detail when it helps.
Start with time and activity
For each entry, record the activity and when it happened. A bottle feed might include an amount. A nursing session might include the side and duration. For sleep, a start and end time describe the session. For a diaper, record the kind of change.
These are record-keeping fields, not targets for how much a baby should eat or sleep, or how often a diaper should change.
Keep optional details optional
A short note is useful when there is something another caregiver needs to understand. You don't need a paragraph for every entry. Use the level of detail that helps you look back without making the log difficult to maintain.
A blank template
Copy these fields into a notebook or your preferred notes app. Use a new entry for each activity.
Baby: Date: Time or approximate time: Activity: feed / nursing / sleep / diaper / other Amount, duration or type, if relevant: Note, if needed: Recorded by:
If you missed an entry
Add what you can remember. If the timing is uncertain, label it as approximate. Check with the other caregiver before filling a gap that they may already have recorded.
In Tiny Tally, you can add past activities and edit saved entries. Keep a note of any uncertainty so a later reader doesn't mistake an estimate for an exact time.
Keep one record everyone can find
If you share care, agree on where entries go. Before a handoff, check the latest entries together and mention anything still missing. A shared app history can help, but an unlogged event still needs to be communicated.

Try a log made for the little things.
