Tiny TallyGetting started with shared care and stored milk
Tiny Tally is an iPhone app for keeping track of your baby's day. Record feeds, sleep, diaper changes and other care, then check the history when you need a reminder. You can share that record with another caregiver and keep an inventory of expressed milk.
Here's how those two parts fit into everyday care.
When another caregiver takes over
Open your baby's profile and choose Caregivers to set up sharing. Both caregivers need to sign in. Once the invitation is accepted, both caregivers can log care for the same baby. In this example, Athena's profile shows “Sharing with Jamie.”
Check that recent care has synced. Before taking over, open History. You can check the most recent feed and other recorded activities instead of piecing them together from messages. In the example below, the latest feed is 40 ml at 5:00 PM.
Keep a short conversation alongside the record: anything that helped today, supplies that need replacing, or something the next caregiver should know. An activity that isn't in the history may simply not have been recorded. The log does not replace checking with each other.
When you pump and store milk
Record the pumping session and the amount that actually goes into storage. The example below records 90 ml placed in the fridge. Milk you express but don't store should not be counted as available inventory.
Open Milk stash to see the stored portions. You can keep track of fridge and freezer portions, and distinguish mother's milk from donor milk. Here, adding 90 ml to an existing 430 ml brings the total to 520 ml.
When you log a bottle feed using stored milk, select the portion used. Tiny Tally reduces that portion's remaining amount. In this example, a 40 ml feed uses part of the 90 ml portion, leaving 50 ml in that portion and 480 ml across the stash.
The feed is also recorded in History, so the next caregiver can see it. Keep the physical labels on your containers and make sure the portion you choose in the app matches the one you used.
Tiny Tally brings the care record and milk inventory together so there is less to reconstruct when someone else takes over.
